2.  Take a look at our winter catalog and save $10 off your next order

If you haven't received a copy of our winter catalog, please get it online at http://www.safehomeproducts.com/SHP2/Catalog/SHPCatW06.pdf  It highlights popular products and has a coupon code for savings on your next order.

3.  Annual Maintenance & Safety Tips

It's time for annual furnace tune-ups.  At the same time, consider installing natural gas alarms or  propane gas alarms. Also, it's a good idea to test and replace batteries in carbon monoxide alarms, thermostats and smoke alarmsCheck radon gas levels: you may need additional fresh air intake if your house is too tight. Many snowbirds escape to the South; home temperature monitoring avoids burst pipes.

4. Keeping the Chill Off Inside Without Risking Fire or Explosion

The National Fire Protection Council reminds that heating equipment causes most home fires in December, January and February.  Death rates from portable heaters are higher than from fireplaces or furnaces.

Stay warm safely and economically.  Inspect or hire inspections of furnaces, fireplaces and gas, wood or coal fired heating stoves. Insulate, seal and caulk.  Check and use for rebates or energy tax credits for insulation or furnace replacements.

We suggest:

  • Insulate electrical outlets: Install CareCovers, insulated sliding door outlet covers, on electrical outlets on outer walls, blocking cold air entering through unused outlets.

5.  Mouse and Rat Proofing Effectively and Humanely

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) says seal up, trap up and clean up for rodent free homes and buildings.

Keeping rodents out is easier with some of our products:

6. Winter Comfort in Vehicles

Garaged vehicles take 15 to 20 minutes to get warm, and pre-warming a car is costly with high gas prices.

7. Working Together With Our Customers for Better, Safer Living

Our goal is to help you with health, safety and personal comfort needs. We continue to seek and evaluate products. Not all products pass our tests and are added to our website. Currently, we are evaluating premium memory foam mattress toppers and assistive living products for the elderly.  We recently added a total wheelchair cushion, an orthopedic pillow and a fleece coccyx wedge seat cushion from Care Apparel, a USA manufacturer.

Let us know what you need (or want) from our website and catalog

Thank you again for being our customer.  We wish you a safe and happy holiday season.

Sincerely,

Barbara Staib
